Keys in Lynx
Important (default) keys to remember when browsing the web/gopher in Lynx:
URL
- g - Enter URL (short for "go")
- G - Edit URL (also short for "Go")
- E - Edit the URL of the link currently selected (short for "Edit")
- Right or Enter or Ctrl+J - Go to currently selected link
- Left or u - Back
- z - Stop
- * - Turn images into links (toggle)
Bookmarks
- v - View bookmarks list (short for "view")
- a - Bookmark page
- r - Delete bookmark (short for "remove")
Movement
- Down - Next link or scroll down a screen if there are no links
- Up - Previous link or scroll up a screen if there are no links
- PgUp or Ctrl+B - Scroll up a screen
- Ins or Ctrl+P - Scroll up 2-3 lines
- PgDn or Space - Scroll down a screen
- Del or Ctrl+N - Scroll down 2-3 lines
- Tab - Jump to next link
- Shift+Tab - Jump to previous link
- Home or Ctrl+A - Scroll to top
- End or Ctrl+E - Scroll to bottom
Search
- / - Search on page
- n - Search for next occurrence (short for "next")
- N - Search for previous occurrence (also short for "Next" for some reason!)
Other
- k - List Keymap (help for keys, short for "keymap")
- ? - View help
- d - Download the currently selected link (short for "download")
- C - Change current directory for downloads (short for "Current directory")
- = - View document info
- \ - View source
- Ctrl+L - Refresh the screen
- Backspace or Ctrl+H - View history
- q - Quit (short for "quit")
- Q or Ctrl+D - Force quit (short for "Quit")
