i have once again switched distros, we all know what that means.
Mr. Linux "just works" Mint is a very nice distro for the two hours i used it. i dont really mind cinnamon all too much.
disaster recovery?
i set my main partition as btrfs because i like it, and because timeshift is preinstalled, it also gets benefits out of the box. alongside that i installed these two:
grub-btrfs integrated btrfs snapshots
makes snapshots when using apt
less vibrant display
linux mint uses xorg and loads some color profile from god knows where.
basically: steal the color profiles (they are .icm
or .icc
files) from windows and add them to the display in the color section in the settings, then restart, maybe log out? i restarted myself but if logging out doesnt work try restarting.
the color profiles can be found in this path on your windows install
C:/Windows/System32/spool/drivers/color/
if you dual boot you can just navigate there with the file manager and install them right away.
